Christmas Families Project 2018

We are so proud to have accomplished the following with our Christmas Project in 2018:

A family referred to us by Lake County Schools Student Services - Every year we assist a family who has a handicapped child who attends Lake Hills School in Howey. This year’s family has 2 small children, a boy who is visually impaired and a young girl. Valerie and Christina had a lot of fun shopping for these children. They received a lot of toys, including a big dump truck, lego wagon, kitchen play set, books, DVDs, clothes, shoes and matching Christmas pajamas. We also provided a grocery gift card so they could purchase a complete Christmas dinner.

A family referred to us by First Academy preschool in Leesburg with a single mother and toddler girl. The child and mother are helped with daycare costs, and the mom walks over a mile to take her little girl to daycare, then walks to her job at a local grocery store. The mom cried happy tears over our help with Christmas… we bought both education and fun toys, clothes, shoes, a baby monitor, and other supplies to help with the little one. This family received a grocery gift card as well.

We assisted a family in Lake County, as a referral from a local high school principal… a single mom with seven children, ages 3 to 17. We were prepared to purchase toys and clothes for the kids, but the mom told us their church was assisting them already, so we provided them with a grocery gift card, which she appreciated very much.

Lastly, we helped two local organizations, both who we have assisted in the past: Forward Paths Foundation and The Open Door. Forward Paths Foundation is an organization whose mission is to assist our community’s homeless youth and those who are aging out of the foster care system. The Open Door is a homeless service center in Eustis. They provide meals 5 days a week to the homeless and those in danger of becoming homeless, in addition to providing laundry facilities, showers, lockers, and help with job searches. Both organizations received gift cards to help the people they serve have a brighter Christmas!

Thank you so much, everyone! For 23 years our firm has been helping people in our community for the holidays and I am so grateful for the generosity of our staff and attorneys that make this possible.

Special thanks to all that shopped, wrapped and delivered gifts this year. Happy New Year!
