Matthew D. Black was born in Ocala, Florida on January 11, 1976. He attended the University of Florida earning a Bachelors of Arts degree in history, with honors, in 1998 and his Juris Doctorate, with honors, in 2001. As an undergraduate Matthew Black was a recipient of the President's Honor Award (4.0 GPA), 1995 - 1997, and as a law student, was recognized as an Anderson Scholar and as a member of Phi Delta Phi.
In the summer of 2000, before graduating law school, Matt Black clerked for the Fifth Circuit Judicial Court. He joined the Firm in April 2002 and was admitted to the Florida Bar later that same year. Matt Black is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association and the Lake-Sumter Inns of Court.
Working out of the Leesburg office, Matt Black teams with partner Phillip Smith in handling complex civil commercial litigation. On November 1, 2010, Matt Black was elected to the Board of Directors of the Firm.Areas of Practice:
