In the years since Walter McLin, III and Dewey Burnsed first began practicing law in Leesburg, Florida in the 60's, our firm has represented many of the people and businesses that have shaped the growth of North Central Florida.

As General Counsel for the City of Leesburg for more than 30 years and Lake County’s School Board for 25 years, we have forged ties with many of the business and political leaders in the area. Our attorneys serve on the governing boards of major financial, educational, health care and civic institutions. Since 1985, we have served as General Counsel for The Villages, the nation’s largest single-site real estate developer.

McLin & Burnsed grew to become the largest and most diverse Lake County-based law firm in the three county area. We are one of the few firms in the area capable of handling large litigation cases that require a team of lawyers working together. We have a staff of 17 attorneys who have access to the kinds of legal resources and technology only a large firm can provide. Throughout our growth we have maintained our commitment to providing excellent client service at a reasonable cost.

The lawyers of McLin & Burnsed are active in both the legal and business communities. Three of our attorneys have served as president of the Lake County Bar Association and others as committee members for both the Florida and American Bar Associations. We are a founding member of The Florida Law Network, a group of independent law firms throughout the state that have combined their knowledge, resources and expertise for the sole purpose of better serving their clients.

Our lawyers donate their time to and serve on the boards of organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Lake & Sumter Counties, Habitat for Humanity, and Hospice of Lake & Sumter Counties.
