Jeffrey P. Skates was born on October 18, 1968 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1990 and his Juris Doctorate, with honors, in 1993. Jeff Skates was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994 and joined the Firm in March, 1998. He became a partner in November, 2001 and is a member of the American Bar, the Florida Bar (Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law) and the Sumter County Bar.

Practicing in the Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Probate Administration and Trust Administration areas of the law, Jeff Skates works out of the Firm's Lake Sumter Landing office inside the retirement community of The Villages of Lake-Sumter, Inc.

In addition, Jeff Skates has an established corporate practice which handles corporate formation, maintenance and dissolutions, general business law and partnership matters. Many of the businesses in Lake and Sumter counties look to him for guidance.

Jeff Skates serves his community as a Director of the Boys and Girls' Club of Lake & Sumter Counties as well as donating his time to Habitat for Humanity.
